GAINESVILLE, April 19, 2023 – The University of South Florida (27-19, 6-3 ACC) fell to the No. 13/14 Florida Gators (32-11, 8-7 SEC), 7-3, on Wednesday night in Gainesville.
The Gators took the early lead in the first inning on a two-run homerun. South Florida answered with one run in the next half inning. (Millville, N.J.) won her 10-pitch at bat with a single through the right side. She was brought home on a double from (Wesley Chapel) to cut Florida's lead to one.
In the fourth inning, with Florida leading 3-1, (Fort Myers) stepped up to the plate and hit her third homerun in a week to tie the game at three.
