Texas RB Jonathon Brooks selected with the No. 46 pick by the Carolina Panthers

If one of the worst-kept secrets in the 2024 NFL Draft was that the Dallas Cowboys wanted to select Texas Longhorns running back Jonathon Brooks with the No. 56 pick, that only gave some perspective to the urgency other franchises needed if they wanted to add the Hallettsville product, who came off the board in the second round on Friday with the No. 46 pick by the Carolina Panthers.

The selection of Brooks as the first running back chosen in this year’s draft is all the more remarkable because he suffered an ACL injury last November that ended his season and his Longhorns career.
